A bit of personal news

It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged here, and that’s because, for the past few weeks, I’ve been preparing for an event that occurred yesterday—I successfully defended my dissertation Explaining the resultative parameter.

Better acknowledgements are coming, but for now I want to thank everyone who had a hand in this achievement, from my supervisor, Elizabeth Cowper, and the rest of my committee (Michela Ippolito, Diane Massam, Susana Béjar, Nick LaCara, and external examiner Norbert Hornstein) to the other exceptional and supportive members of the linguistics department at UofT, to my family, and my wonderful partner, Zoe. I couldn’t have done this alone.

The day was exhilarating, and just so much fun. I didn’t take any photos, but others did, and I’ll post them below as they come in.
